THE BEST HOMEMADE RICE RECIPE
Making a delicious rice dish as you may see served in restaurants is easy. With just a little effort, you can make a delicious dish of rice. Here is a guide to making a great rice dish at home.
Whenever you are preparing a rice dish, just remember this basic point: always boil rice in water it can absorb Here are steps to follow when making preparation.
The basic and very important rule in making a perfect rice dish is to be able to measure the right amount of water to cook your rice. Make sure the water is only what the rise can absorb.
Step 1
Wash the rice thoroughly in the cold water, rubbing it between your palms. Rinse several times pouring out the water. Repeat until you notice that the water has changed from white to clear. Thereafter, you can pour it into a drainer. If you do not have one, then you can just drain off the water by using your hands. For one cup of rice, add one and a half cups of water to your cooking pot. If you have to use a pan, then a non-sticky pan is ideal since you will only have to stir a little to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Add some water to the rice until it covers the rice
Step 3
If you like, you can add a little salt to the rice on the boiling pot, and stir. Stirring keeps the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Salt together with a few drops of lemon enhance the rice by making it appear whiter than it is. Cook until you see large bubbles forming on the pot of rice.
STEP 3
Add a little salt if you like and stir to keep it from sticking to the bottom of the pan or pot. If you like, you can add some drops of lemon juice. Lemon makes the rice look whiter as it cooks.
STEP 4
Once you notice large bubbles, cover your pot with a lid and reduce the heat to the lowest point. After some 12 to 15 minutes, check the rice. The best way to know how cooked the rice is taking a grain and mashing it on a plate. This will tell you if the rice needs more cooking or whether it is ready. In case it is ready, strain the rice and allow it to stay in the pot for some few minutes.
