Using An Omega 3 Cookbook For Great Health

By now chances are that you know that the Omega 3 polyunsaturated fats found in fish oil are good for your health. Very good for your health.

Scientists are finding more and more reasons to take more Omega 3 fats into our bodies. Our hearts, our eyes, our brains, our organs, there’s so many reasons to get more good fats into our body.

There’s 2 essential fatty acids found in fish oil, the best source of Omega 3 fats. One is DHA and the other is EPA. DHA is the most important, but EPA is pretty important too. Both are what are essential polyunsaturated fats.

These 2 are found primarily fish oil as well, and thats why most Omega 3 supplements are based on fish oil.

But there is another essential fatty acid called ALA. ALA is the plant form of Omega 3. Whilst DHA and EPA are the most beneficial forms, ALA is also good for us because it can get converted into DHA in the body.

The way your body gets these healthy Omega 3 fats is through what you eat. Now of course Omega 3 fats are so important to us that they should be taken daily, and the best way to do that is using high quality Omega 3 fish oil supplements. But theres absolutely no reason why you shouldnt also add more Omega 3 fats to your diet as well as take daily supplements.

There are good fats and bad fats. Saturated fat found mainly in dairy products and meat, are not healthy fats. But if you eat the right foods with the good fats in them then youre eating better food and getting healthier from what you eat.

Olive oil has good fats. Canola oil does as has flaxseed oil. And there are foods rich in Omega 3 like walnuts, brussel sprouts and spinach, kale and salad greens.

The fat found in vegetables is ALA but if you’re getting your DHA and EPA from your daily fish oil supplements then you’re getting everything you need. And eat fish, but not too much. The FDA tells us to eat only moderate amounts of fish due to chemical contamination.

So if you take your fishoil supplements daily and you also do some Omega 3 cooking then you’re way in front. Find a good Omega 3 cookbook with plenty of Omega 3 recipes and you’re on your way to good health.

So grab a good Omega 3 cookbook and start making some recipes. Buy a high Omega oil to cook with and begin cooking some Omega 3 recipes for the family.

So remember, whilst you should be taking daily fish oil supplements to get the maximum benefit from those good fats, its well worthwhile also concentrating on using Omega 3 recipes when doing your cooking.
