Waffle Recipe ‘ Basic But Can Be Spiced Up
Waffles are a traditional breakfast food that most people have eaten. They can be made from scratch at home, they can be heated up from a frozen state at home or they can be ordered in any restaurant that has a breakfast menu. Sometimes waffles are even eaten at other times throughout the day besides breakfast. With a good waffle recipe, they can be made at home and they can be specialized to suit you are your family.
Waffles require less than 10 ingredients and most of these are already on hand in the pantry. The recipe calls for a waffle iron and a bit of vegetable oil. You will also need milk, one and a half cups worth, eggs, three of them and a pinch of salt. Also needed will be baking powder, two teaspoons, sugar, one teaspoon, and two different types of flour, all purpose flour and whole wheat flour, four ounces of each.
Waffles can be made in just a few basic steps. Start by heating up the waffle iron. Taking a few minutes to heat this up will save time later when the batter is set to go. Mix all of the dry ingredients together. These would be both of the flours, the sugar, the baking powder and the salt. Keep these together in one bowl.
Next, take all of the wet ingredients, the eggs, milk and oil, and mix those together in a separate bowl. It will take a bit of mixing but keeping mixing until the milk and eggs are mixed together well.
Pour the wet mixture and the dry mixture together in the same bowl. Mix these together until no more lumps are present. If there are any additional items that you would like to add to your waffles, add them now. These could be just about anything such as chocolate chips, fruit or cinnamon. Mix again until the batter is smooth.
With the batter ready, pour a half cup of waffle batter into the waffle iron. Close the lid and let it sit for about a minute. Check on the iron every so often until the waffle is a golden brown. This is when the waffle is done and is ready to be eaten.
This recipe will make between seven to nine waffles. This recipe can be doubled or tripled to feed as many people as you need it to. With a basic recipe such as this one, this recipe is easy to do and easy to add additional items to.
